Walls people talk about.

Before & after

The wall before, and after

Same wall, same spot, photographed before I started and after I finished. Drag the handle across any of them.

A blank cream school entrance wall before painting, with dust sheets and paint tins on the ground The same wall painted with a great oak, rolling green hills and children walking with storybook characters
Before After

School entrance — a blank wall by the reception door, painted as an oak and a valley the children walk into every morning.

A blank rendered wall with two rows of climbing holds fixed to it, before painting The same climbing wall painted as a jungle canopy with an orangutan and monkeys, children climbing beneath it
Before After

Playground climbing wall — the holds were already there. The jungle came after.

The aviary window wall before repainting — faded green grass and a worn painted pheasant The same wall after repainting, with a life-size cassowary and an outback roundel
Before After

Aviary window wall — an older mural that had gone flat, brought back as a life-size cassowary.

Why invest in a mural

Paint is the cheapest renovation there is

A mural does more than decorate. It gives a space a personality people notice, remember, and talk about.

For businesses & workspaces

A mural turns a storefront, lobby or office into a landmark — the backdrop customers photograph and the detail employees notice on a hard day.

For homes

One wall can carry a whole room. A mural gives a nursery, stairwell or garden a focal point that paint alone can't, without the cost of a full renovation.

For schools & community spaces

Hallways teach without a lesson plan. A mural gives students something to be proud of and gives a school a project the whole community takes part in.

The story

Hello! I'm Caitlin.

I'm an Irish and South African artist, and splitting life between the two has shaped how I see wildlife — the scale of a rhino or a lion beside the quieter, smaller creatures of the Irish countryside. Most of my work, murals and paintings both, circles back to the same question: how the human world and the natural world might sit alongside each other, not in conflict but in something closer to peace.

I hand-paint murals for homes, businesses and schools — everything from a single accent wall to a full building, designed around the room or wall it's going into rather than fitted to a template. If you've got a wall in mind, I'd love to hear about it.

I am also a qualified art teacher, registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland, and Garda vetted. That side of things shows up most in schools: I know how a school day actually runs, what a corridor has to put up with, and how to work around children rather than despite them. It is also why I care what a wall teaches, not just how it looks.

Beyond the murals

Fine art

Alongside mural work, I paint — many pieces inspired by the same wild subjects that live on my walls.

How it works

From blank wall to finished piece

You never commit to anything before you've seen the design.

Consultation & site visit

We walk the space together, talk through mood, colour, budget, and how the wall gets used.

Design proof

You get a to-scale digital mockup of the mural on a photo of your actual wall, so there are no surprises.

Wall prep

Cleaning, patching and priming so the surface holds paint properly and the finished mural lasts.

Hand-painting

Painted on site, in sections, with time built in for the space to stay usable around the work where possible.

Reveal & care guide

A final walkthrough, plus simple notes on cleaning and touch-ups so the mural stays looking like day one.

Rough costs

What a mural tends to cost.

Every wall is different, so this is a guide rather than a quote — a range to tell you whether we are in the same ballpark. Where a project lands inside it depends on the detail, the surface and how much of the wall you want covered. We work that out together, and you get a fixed price in writing before anything is booked.

Rough guide

Roughly, where would you land?

Three quick questions and you will get a broad range — no email needed. It is deliberately wide, because the real number depends on things we have not discussed yet. Use it to see whether we are in the same ballpark, then talk to me about the wall itself.

The Caitlins Paints promise

You shouldn't end up with a mural you don't love.

Commissioning art can feel risky — what if it's not what you imagined? Here's how that risk is removed:

🖌️ Design Sign-Off

You approve the full concept before painting begins. Not a drop of paint until you love the design.

Kind words

What clients say

I worked with Caitlin in January of this year when she came to our school to paint a mural. I had a vision for the mural to encapsulate our key school values and to incorporate different elements of our community and parish. Caitlin listened to my ideas and she did her own research on the history of the area. The end product superseded our expectations and we were extremely impressed with Caitlin's artist abilities and attention to detail!

We had the pleasure of working with Caitlin O'Gorman on a mural for our bird aviary and we are absolutely delighted with the result! The mural is everything we had asked for and more — it has completely transformed the space and has been noticed and admired by everyone who has seen it. From start to finish, Caitlin was professional, friendly, creative and easy to work with. We would highly recommend Caitlin to anyone looking for a talented and reliable artist.

Questions

Everything you're wondering

Most single walls take 2–5 days on site, plus design time beforehand. Larger projects like whole-school schemes run over 1–2 weeks. You'll get a realistic timeline with your quote.

Yes — I'm happy to travel for the right project. Travel is factored into your quote upfront, so there are no surprises.

Perfect — that's the fun part. Most clients start with a feeling rather than a picture. The design stage exists exactly for this: I bring concepts, we refine together, and you only book once you love the drawings.

Every mural is sealed with a protective varnish suited to the surface, indoors or out.

Yes — I work cleanly and flexibly around school days, opening hours and holidays. Many school projects happen over breaks; many business walls are painted outside trading hours.

A design fee is charged upfront (from €350, credited against the project), then a booking deposit secures your dates once you approve the design, with the balance due on completion.
